Defined terms used in this Personal Information Collection Statement shall have the same meanings as the terms defined in the Terms and Conditions of HKIA Connects.

Collection and Use

1. We collect, use and store your personal data to facilitate the HKIA Connects to you and offer you a personal experience at HKIA. We will keep your personal data confidential at all times and only collect, use and store it in accordance with this Personal Information Collection Statement.
   When you book the Service, you will be asked to provide your:
   1. first name (compulsory);
   2. last name (compulsory);
   3. email address (compulsory);
   4. passport number (Initial 4 letters and numbers - compulsory);
   5. arrival and departure flight numbers, date and time (compulsory);
   6. gender (optional);
   7. country or region (optional);
   8. age group (optional);
   9. 6-character air booking reference number (optional)
   Personal data that is strictly necessary for us to deliver the HKIA Connects will be marked with an asterisk (*). If you do not provide such information, you will not be able to complete the Reservation of HKIA Connects and you will not be able to enjoy the Service we provide.
2. Personal data collected from you in the HKIA Connects website will be used by the Authority for the purposes:
   1. processing your Reservation and Service Order, including but not limited to sending confirmation emails to you, and if applicable, handling your request for cancellation and refund of your Service Order;
   2. administering your journey for connecting onward flight with Selected Airlines, processing check-in of flight and baggage;
   3. if applicable, assisting refund of Hong Kong Air Passenger Departure Tax to you; and
   4. handling your enquiry on your Reservation, Service Order and/or the use of the HKIA Connects.
3. Flight information submitted, including but not limited to date and time of arrival and departure flight; number of passengers, service option(s) will be used for statistical purposes in relation to the HKIA Connects. Please be assured that only anonymized data will be used by us for statistical purposes.

Transfer of Data

4. Personal data collected will be disclosed and transferred to the Passenger Handling Agent for the purposes as stated in paragraph 1 above.

Direct Marketing

5. As we continue to enhance our Service, new features and/or services may be added to our HKIA Connects service from time to time. With your consent, we will use your personal data for direct marketing of other services offered by the Authority, or services that are available at the Airport, including but not limited to shopping and dining, lounge and other passenger services.

Services Involving Payments

6. Since the HKIA Connects involves payment of money, you will be redirected to a secure third-party website belonging to our payment gateway service provider to complete payment of the Reservation. Payment-related personal data (including but not limited to the cardholder's full name, card number prefix, cardholder's billing address, card verification value (CVV) and the card expiry date) will be collected by the payment gateway service provider for the purpose of processing payment for your Reservation as well as other incidental purposes. We will not be able to provide the HKIA Connects to you if you do not provide the data.

Security and Protection of Your Information

7. We protect the personal data that you provide to us by reasonable physical, electronic and managerial measures. Please be aware that despite our efforts, no data security measures can guarantee 100% security at all times.
8. To protect your personal data while you are on our website, we will encrypt any personal data you transmit to us via our Website.

Data Security and Retention

9. Subject to any legal and regulatory requirements, the personal data you provide to us will be kept by us for 1 year, after which it will be destroyed.

Access to Personal Data/ Enquiries

10. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for your rights regarding access and correction of your personal data and inquiries.

Where these terms and conditions are available in other languages, the English version shall be the governing version and shall prevail whenever there is a discrepancy amongst versions.
